2014 July – Carving Demonstration by Harold Goodman

Harold Goodman was the featured demonstration at the July 2014 Guild Monthly meeting.  Harold held everyone’s attention for more than an hour as he spoke first about what he likes about carving and his experiences at shows and fairs.

Harold then presented his carving instruments and was careful to point out that only a few simple designs are all that one would need to get started.

He rounded out his presentation by quickly converting a triangular section of basswood into one of his trademark Christmas Santa ornaments.

Following Harold’s demonstration, many members crowded around his table seeking advice and to examine his work on display.
