Milling Timbers Workshop
Are you ready to move beyond the big box lumber supply? Do you want the skills to be able to covert rough kiln dry lumber into project ready boards at any thickness you need?
If so – David Knipfer will be teaching a 3-hour course on how to mill rough 4/4 stock into project ready boards. This is a fundamental woodworking skill, and opens up the world of fine kiln dry timbers for your use.
Students will be provided with a section of rough 4/4 premium hardwood stock with some drying defects (cup, twist, warp). You will learn how to safely and accurately convert that rough stock into a clean S6S board that you will take home with you for use in your own projects.
No prior woodworking experience is needed. Students will learn how to use the jointer, planer and tablesaw in the HCWG Bain Center Shop. David will provide safety and operation instructions for the equipment.
The Workshop will be held on Mondays 3PM to 6PM. Course dates will be determined based on the number of interested students. Course fee is $25.
This class only available to members. Members, please log in to learn more.
