Workshop Monthly Status 4/15 – 5/10/2019

The list below summarizes the shop’s activity of the past month. Let me
know if I’ve missed something or if a correction is needed…… Ron Fico

List of this month’s maintenance activities (outside of the monthly Cleanup)

1. Bandsaw blades replaced
a. Jet bandsaw blade replaced 4/30/19. Breakage due to misuse.
3/16″ 10 TPI blade replaced with a new blade. Broken blades
have been sent for re-welding and new ones ordered.
b. Powermatic bandsaw blade replaced 5/7/19. Blade was dull;
1/2″ 3-TPI blade replaced with a 5/8″ 4-TPI blade.

2. Dust cyclone container used for the Grizzly planer was replaced with
a taller and narrower container (5/2/19).

3. Shop-made drum sander modified with a roll-able cart, motor moved to
below the drum-sander box, now consuming less space and stored in the
rear room when not used. Completed 5/9/19.

4. Bain Center waxed the shop floors this past month.

5. Old jigs discarded.

6. Wood blanks/stumps stored under Bench 4 and in the rear room discarded.
Most are gone. Others have been identified for “Take or Toss” since
overnight storage only is allowed for items actively be worked on per
the Shop Policy and Guide.

MONTHLY CLEANUP (CU) – 5/8/19

CU-1. Excess scrap wood removed from rear room
CU-2. Wood blanks/stumps removed from rear room for Take-or-Toss on Bench 4.
CU-3. Shelves in rear room re-arranged to allow storage of shop-made drum sander
