Learn to Design and Create High Quality Mortise & Tenon Joints
The mortise and tenon joint is one of the most important joints used in building high quality furniture that can last generations.
You will learn: the anatomy of this important joint, how to design and layout the correct size for your project, and the variety of techniques used to make the mortise and tenon joint.
Additionally, you will practice some basic techniques to create this joint yourself using machines and hand tools.
Prerequisites: 1- Sharpening Workshop or the equivalent experience in getting your edge tools very sharp. 2- Students must supply their own tools. Lists of required tools will be provided. 3- Instructor approval.
This workshop will take place in the Guild shop on two successive Wednesday evenings from 3-6 PM, April 15th, and April 22th.
